IFC Vice President for Africa, Sérgio Pimenta, to Visit Egypt

– Sérgio Pimenta, IFC’s Vice President for Africa, will visit Egypt from December 17 to 19 to continue delivering on IFC’s commitment to support Egypt’s development priorities by boosting private sector participation in the economy.

Mr. Pimenta will meet with key government officials, private sector representatives, and development partners to discuss and identify new opportunities for further economic growth in support of Egypt’s Asset Monetization Program, following the appointment of IFC as Strategic Advisor for the government’s Asset Monetization Program in June 2023.

IFC has an investment portfolio in Egypt amounting to nearly $1.7 billion and an active advisory portfolio of $32 million. IFC supports Egypt’s private sector in key areas such as access to finance, fintech, climate finance, manufacturing, infrastructure and renewable energy, healthcare, and gender inclusion.
