Following her visit to Morocco and her meetings with Orange teams across the Middle East and Africa region, led by Egyptian engineer Yasser Shaker, Christel Heydemann, CEO of Orange Group, shared her impressions of the strong dynamism and team spirit that characterize the region’s teams, stressing that the future is already being built at a fast pace.
On her personal LinkedIn account, Heydemann wrote: “Go Go Go,” referring to the great energy and enthusiasm she experienced during the visit. She added that what stands out in Morocco and across the region is “collective strength, dynamism, enthusiasm, and momentum that can be felt in every conversation.”
She highlighted a “genuine pride in what has already been achieved, and a shared determination to go even further,” emphasizing that this collective commitment reflects the spirit of Orange in the region.
During her visit, Heydemann met with teams across the region as well as journalists, engaging in discussions about the challenges and opportunities in an increasingly complex global environment. She stressed that “the key strength lies in combining the group’s global scale with deep local roots.”
The CEO confirmed that Orange’s multi-local model represents a true strategic advantage, noting that “strategy only matters when it translates into tangible impact on the ground.” In this regard, she pointed to the role of digital transformation and financial inclusion in creating a virtuous cycle of sustainable growth, through the support of more than 50 Orange Digital Centers and over 450 startups in the region.
She also reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting the clear goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, considering it an essential part of Orange’s long-term vision.
Heydemann added that this model makes the #TrustTheFuture motto tangible across the Middle East and Africa region, where growth is driven by technology, people are at the center, and a sustainable and long-lasting future is being built.
In closing her visit, she thanked everyone she met for their warm welcome, the quality of discussions, and the positive energy, stressing that “the future is already being built here, and at a very fast pace.”
