An expanded press conference is being held today, Wednesday, in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco, with the participation of Christel Heydemann, Chief Executive Officer of Orange, and Eng. Yasser Shaker, Chief Executive Officer of Orange Middle East and Africa. The event comes as part of the group’s efforts to outline its strategic direction and future plans.

The conference is set to feature an opening keynote by Christel Heydemann, in which she will address the importance of Africa within the group’s priorities, as well as present the key pillars of the “Lead the Future” strategy at the global level.

Yasser Shaker will also deliver a detailed presentation on Orange’s operations in Africa and the Middle East, highlighting the company’s mission, its growth journey, and its contribution to supporting and implementing the group’s new strategic plan.

During the conference, journalists are expected to gain insights into the strategic role of the Africa and Middle East region as one of the group’s main growth drivers. The event will also shed light on Orange’s positioning in the region within the framework of the “Lead the Future” strategy, in addition to discussing the impact of digital technology in supporting development and fostering innovation across Africa and the Middle East.

It is worth noting that Christel Heydemann met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in December 2022, where she emphasized that Egypt’s comprehensive development process and large-scale national projects across various sectors have had a clear positive impact on the investment climate and opportunities in the country. This, she noted, encourages Orange to expand its investments in Egypt, particularly through investing in startups and enhancing cooperation in major national projects—especially given that Egypt is one of the region’s key markets in telecommunications, information technology, and smart services applications.
