ICT Minister Witnesses Signing of Commercial Agreements between Telecom Egypt, e& Egypt, NTRA

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy has witnessed the signing of commercial agreements between the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Telecom Egypt, and e& Egypt. These agreements aim to attract additional national and international investments while enhancing the quality of mobile phone services in Egypt, keeping pace with technological advancements in the mobile phone industry.

The agreements were signed by Executive President of NTRA Mohamed Shamroukh, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt Tamer El Mahdi, and CEO of e& Egypt Hazem Metwally

.

In his remarks, Hendy stated that the agreements reflect MCIT’s commitment to supporting the state’s efforts to resolve challenges facing investors in the ICT sector, a key driver of economic growth and a cornerstone in building Digital Egypt. He added that the step aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to open new avenues for cooperation among ICT companies, contributing to the ongoing development of telecommunication services.

The ICT Minister also praised NTRA’s efforts in facilitating these agreements and commended the flexibility and collaboration shown by both companies, which helped bring the deals to fruition.

These agreements reinforce the commitment of MCIT and NTRA to fostering constructive cooperation among telecom companies, a move expected to encourage further investment in this vital sector.
