oraimo Manager: Egypt will be a central hub for export to 45 African countries

oraimo has revealed that it will expand its production of accessories and smart devices in Egypt in the coming period as part of its plan to localize the smart accessories industry in the Egyptian market, which it began with the manufacturing of smart watches and wireless earphones since mid-2023 through its production lines in Egypt.

This came during a visit organized by oraimo for a number of journalists and technology specialists to its production lines at the Silicon Valley factory in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which is currently producing the new oraimo watch 4 plus, which will be launched in the Egyptian market in a few days.

On this occasion, Ivan Liu, the Regional Director of oraimo in the Middle East and North Africa, expressed his pleasure at receiving journalists specialized in communications and information technology to visit the company’s production lines in Egypt and to learn about the modern technology and quality standards that oraimo relies on in manufacturing smart accessories, explaining that oraimo is a brand that aims to provide a unique experience for users to make their lives easier and smarter.

Liu added that oraimo products cover 60 countries around the world, and oraimo’s TWS earphones and smart watches are considered number 1 in Africa in terms of sales, and we target our products primarily to the youth category because it is a category passionate about technology to a great extent.

The Regional Director of oraimo emphasized that choosing Egypt to be the center for manufacturing the company’s products in Africa came as a result of its distinguished location and as a promising market for the company’s products full of opportunities and its connection to a number of trade agreements such as COMESA, Agadir, and others with African countries, which will allow oraimo products to easily pass through to the countries of the continent.

Leo, explained that oraimo is the largest smart accessories factory in the world with the largest market share in Africa, and it targets through its factory in Egypt many African markets, especially North African markets.

The Regional Director of oraimo praised the investment incentives provided by the Egyptian government to Chinese investors, confirming the strong convergence and solid common relations between Egypt and China, both people and government.

For her part, Khadija Abdel Rahim, oraimo Egypt Director, said that oraimo is not only a smart accessories company but also supports smart living in general through a number of modern products that will be produced under the slogan “Made in Egypt” and gradually revealed, as part of the company’s expansion plan in Africa, supporting IoT technology to provide a smart life experience in a smart home relying on connected devices that are controlled through smartphones.

Khadija Abdel Rahim stressed that Egypt is a country of weight and our direction towards manufacturing in it is a big step, pointing out that oraimo’s production lines at the Silicon Valley factory match production lines in China in terms of quality, technology, maintenance services, and after-sales services, and we are currently seeking to expand production so that Egypt becomes a central hub for export to 45 countries in Africa, stating that exports will begin during the second half of the current year 2024.

Khadija pointed out that oraimo not only invests in manufacturing smart accessories and electronic devices in Egypt but also invests in human resources and developing skilled and trained labor for electronics manufacturing, which aligns with the state’s plan and the presidential initiative “Egypt Manufactures Electronics.”

Engineer Abdel Moneim El-Khawaja, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Factory, stated that oraimo supported the factory with the necessary expertise and components for manufacturing and greatly assisted in training the Egyptian workforce at the factory to produce smart accessories according to global standards and helped supply the factory with the latest devices for manufacturing smart accessories that are not inferior in quality or efficiency to their counterparts in China.

El-Khawaja explained that establishing the factory in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which is an economic zone with special laws that provide many incentives for investors, allows factories to export their products to all countries on the continent, alongside entering its products into the Egyptian market to meet the increasing local demand, indicating that the Suez Canal Economic Authority is currently establishing an electronic system and a customs office specific to the authority to facilitate the work of investors in the region.
